Visionaries wanted: Angel funding available for social entrepreneurs

Nonprofit innovators and systems thinkers leaders with groundbreaking social visions can obtain start-up funding for a new take-action organization through Echoing Green, a provider of first-stage funding and support to social sector leaders with bold ideas for social change.

The organization is a subsidiary of General Atlantic, LLC, a global private equity firm providing venture capital for companies driven by information technology or intellectual property. It has put out a call for Fellowship Applications. Deadline to apply is Dec. 1.

Through a two-year fellowship program, the organization helps social entrepreneurs develop new solutions to difficult societal problems. Echoing Green Fellows receive up to $90,000 in seed funding and support to launch an organization that turns a great idea into action.
