State libraries offer free nonprofit resources

The Hawaii State Public Library System has a growing collection of resources on management, planning and fundraising for nonprofit organizations and has published a bibliography listing what is available.  Link to bibliography.pdf

Materials available for loan include books on nonprofit management, how to form a nonprofit, finance, grant writing, legal issues and publicity. There are also ebooks on strategic planning, engaging business support, endowment building and board governance.

The library system also makes available “Webfeat Express,” a single search interface which searches numerous databases for magazines and journal articles as well as books in the HSPLS catalog. Click here to go to www.librarieshawaii.org, then click on “Other Databases.” From outside the library, your library card number and PIN are required to use Webfeat. Apply for a library card at any Hawaii public library – the initial card is free for Hawaii residents.

HSPLS is comprised of 51 libraries throughout the State of Hawaii, a single system that allows residents to borrow from any of the 51 collections. All you need is a public library card. Visit your local public library or click here to see what’s new
