Lingle signs law on fund transfers between nonprofits

Charities may distribute funds to a related nonprofit corporation as long as the distribution is in keeping with the nonprofit's purposes and doesn't jeopardize its financial status.

Gov. Linda Lingle clarified that issue by signing into law on April 21 a bill that allows charities, religious and educational nonprofits to make such distributions.
