Free booklets for nonprofit leaders and managers

The Management Assistance Group, a social justice organization that works to strengthen groups working on the front lines of change, has made available three free, easy-to-read booklets that help answer social justice nonprofit leaders’ most vexing questions about building effective boards, managing employees and creating strategic plans. The downloadable booklets include these titles:

• Boards Matter: Board Building Tools -- a guide to board core responsibilities, building strong board/executive director relationships, the role of a board chair, creating committees that work and more
• Strategic Planning That Makes a Difference -- a tool to help nonprofits launch focused and fruitful strategic planning efforts
• Advancing Your Cause Through the People You Manage -- tools for new and experienced managers, such as a self-assessment tool, the three questions all employees ask and every manager needs to answer, why employees don't get the job done and how to hold successful staff meetings
